LifeCamp 2007 Invitation

Subject: Invitation to LifeCamp 2007

{NAME},

We'd like to invite you to join us December 30-31 for LifeCamp, a BarCamp-style yet private (perhaps that makes it more FooCamp-style ;) discussion/gathering in {CITY} that focuses on the question:

What are you doing with your life?

As 2007 winds down, this will be a chance to connect and reflect and celebrate the changing of the year. You can think of it as a life-hacking campout, with potluck meals and interesting people.

LifeCamp is a creation of the people who attend. We're inviting people who are not only doing interesting things, but also tend to be nice people with a positive outlook who like to confront big questions in the company of friends.

This is a free, invitation-only event. We'll have some planned activities, but much of the agenda will be determined by you. We'll provide space, electricity, a wireless network, and a wiki. You bring your ideas, enthusiasms, and projects.

The format of LifeCamp will be open and collaborative, with participants leading sessions on areas of interest/expertise/enthusiasm. Day 1 will be focused on reflection -- what have you done with your life recently, this past year, etc. Day 2 will be focused on projection -- what will you do with your life, this next year, etc. After the LifeCamp sessions conclude on the evening of the 31st, we will hold a New Year's Eve dinner and party.

LifeCampers have the option to sleep overnight (more like a house slumber party than a campout). We have some blankets, cushions, and pillows, but you may want to bring your own sleeping bag and towel. You'll have access to a shower, bathroom, and kitchen.

Plan to arrive at LifeCamp any time after 9am on Sunday. Our first planned activity is brunch at 10am, followed by the kickoff meeting. We'll conclude with brunch on the 1st. We will cook simple vegetarian meals with perhaps

some fish on the side. Potluck contributions are strongly encouraged. There are local markets just 2 blocks away if you need particular foods.

We'll keep the temperature nice and toasty indoors, but you may want to bring layers and a coat for local excursions.

Do RSVP as soon as possible, by emailing a reply-all to this message. This is an invitation-only event, but you are welcome to nominate another participant (please note how you know him or her) for consideration along

with your RSVP. We're going to be doing our best to keep LifeCamp to a size that works for the location and as such your prompt RSVP (whether or not you are attending) will help us as we finalize logistics.

For more, see the LifeCamp wiki: http://lifecamp.pbwiki.com/

If you are attending, please consider adding your name and URL to the LifeCampers page: http://lifecamp.pbwiki.com/LifeCampers

We hope to see you at the end of the month!
